Our BSB phone Jockeys participated in a grueling Tough Mudder challenge. This is an endurance event series in which participants attempt 10-12 mile long obstacle courses that tests mental as well as physical strength. They also had to work as a team to get through the course. BSB's technicians, Gary Miller and Tom Lamb, along with BSB's Project Manager, Michael Sanchez, gave blood, sweat and tears in not only training for this event but also completing it! We are so proud of Team Phone Jockeys!!! Fun Fact: they are in fact getting electrocuted in the bottom right picture!!
John brings a wealth of accounting and financial management experience to his role as our Controller. He is a Michigan native and graduate of Michigan Technological University. John began his career in public accounting and has served as Corporate Controller for Gaylord Printing Company, Chief Financial Officer of Laimbeer Packaging, Vice President & General Manager of Double Envelope, VP of Finance & Administration at Gleaners Community Food Bank, and most recently as Controller/CFO of Shared Vision (a high precision machine parts manufacturer). Some of you may remember John from his days as a BSB customer when he was at Wolf Envelope (which was acquired by, and changed their name to, Double Envelope).
John grew up downriver, in Allen Park, in a great family atmosphere - a 1200 square foot house with 6 sisters - 5 older and 1 younger. His siblings now live across the United States, but John asserts they still enjoy each other's company and look forward to family reunions. John's wife of 33 years, Geri, works at General Motors in worldwide consolidations. John's experience growing up in a small house with so many girls, led him to ask Geri when they got married if he could get the master bathroom all to himself - and she agreed. They now reside in Troy, MI and have 3 adult sons. Their eldest, Andrew, lives and works in Chicago as the COO of a start-up drone company called Uplift Data Partners. The middle son, John III (JD), travels the U.S. selling his photography at weekend art shows. And their youngest, Michael, is a Junior majoring in Finance & Economics at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
We are excited to have John join BSB!

Recently, one of our customers signed a new dial tone contract with their carrier. The customer did a great job driving down their telecom costs with this new contract but failed to take into account; capacity. Their business has changed over the years and they were only utilizing half of what their contract was providing for. The small amount saved on the new contract pales in comparison to what would have been saved, had they purchased within the proper capacity. If the customer had their capacity needs and carrier services analyzed prior to making a decision, the potential savings would have been around $12,000 annually.
When you are looking to drive down your monthly costs regarding carrier services, it is important to consider monthly usage. There are tools to help you do this such as the link below:
If you are in the market for a new carrier or your contract will be expiring in the next 6-12 months please let BSB know. I am not only interested in saving you money, but also making sure you have the correct capacity for your business.
